Every voice memo starts with a fumble and ends with a scrape. Cut both, fade the edges so the cuts don't click, keep the middle.
A cut that lands mid-waveform produces a click — the speaker jumps instantly from one position to another. Even 50 ms of fade removes it. The longer fades are for endings: two seconds out makes an abrupt stop sound intentional. Cleaning noise too? Denoise first, then trim — the noise profile likes having the whole file to learn from.
